New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders gathered at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday to protest against the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj called for a probe into the matter, monitored by the Supreme Court.

“The central government and NTA have deceived the children of this country. They have betrayed the dreams and futures of these children. Cases of paper leaks have also emerged in Bihar and Gujarat, but the central government remained silent and continued to try to cover up this fraud. In this matter, the central government should conduct an independent investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court,” Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

“This concerns the future of millions of students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, and AAP will strongly raise the voices of these children,” Bharadwaj said.

“There are 24 lakh students, who appeared in the NEET exam. They prepared for 16 to 18 hours for the exam. Never before have people heard that someone paid a bribe to ace the exam,” he said.

Bharadwaj cited the example of Bihar where some aspirants received the exam’s question paper and answers in a ‘safe house’ near Patna a day before it was conducted on May 5.

“Some students have approached the Supreme Court. We want that a committee be set up to probe the matter and it should be monitored by the apex court,” he added.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh has also criticised the Modi government over controversies related to the NEET UG exam.

“This is a massive scam; the futures of crores of students have been ruined. Over the past 2-3 years, nearly three crore students have suffered due to paper leaks. In UP, 60 lakh candidates were affected due to corruption in police recruitment, and in the NEET scam, the futures of 24 lakh children were jeopardized,” Sanjay Singh said.

“The NEET exam should be cancelled, and those responsible for the scam should face strict punishment,” he added.
