Thiruvananthapuram: In a freak accident, a 35-year-old woman — Simi of Vellar near Kovalam — was killed after she plunged onto a service road from Venpalavattom overpass on NH 66 along with her three-year-old daughter and younger sister from a two-wheeler she was riding pillion on Monday. The incident happened around 1pm.
Her sister Sini (32) was riding the Honda Activa scooter and her daughter Sivanya was on Simi’s lap.Both of them are being treated at a nearby private hospital and their condition is reportedly stable.

They were proceeding to Kazhakootam from Kovalam on the scooter when the accident occured. Sini apparently lost control of the vehicle when they reached the overpass and the three fell onto the service road nearly 20 metres deep.
