Air India has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Delhi International Airport (DIAL) to enhance the travel experience for international passengers with baggage drop and check-in facility for international flights. The airline now offers a convenient check-in and baggage drop service at two key metro stations in Delhi – New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium.

This initiative, which extends the already existing service for domestic travellers, allows international passengers to check in their baggage at these metro stations. This service is designed to benefit outstation travellers, enabling them to explore the city without the burden of their luggage. Once checked in, the baggage is securely transferred to the aircraft using advanced automated systems set up by DMRC and DIAL.

The new facility operates daily from 0700 hrs to 2100 hrs. For domestic flights, passengers can check in their baggage between 12 hours and 2 hours prior to departure. For international flights, the check-in window is between 4 hours and 2 hours before departure.

Female flyers on IndiGo can now select seats next to other women if they want to

“The feature offers visibility of seats booked by female passengers, only during web check-in. It is specifically tailored to PNRs with women travellers — solo as well as part of family bookings.… (this is) currently in pilot mode aligning with our ‘girl power’ ethos,” the airline said in a statement.

“Our partnership with DMRC and DIAL demonstrates our dedication to providing a seamless and enhanced travel experience for our passengers,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India. “This initiative offers a cost-effective solution for travellers coming from distant locations and helps reduce congestion at the airport, leading to a smoother experience for all our customers. Alongside other technological advancements like DigiYatra and self-baggage drop machines at airport terminals, this service significantly improves the convenience and satisfaction of our customers.”The Delhi Metro, with a frequency of every 10 minutes, ensures a swift and hassle-free journey, taking just 19 minutes to reach the departure level at Delhi Airport Terminal 3.
