In honor of 50 years of tourism, Bhutan is launching a special India Road Show from June 17 to 21, 2024, focusing on summer travel. Since opening its doors to tourism in 1974, India has remained one of Bhutan’s most important markets. As the peak holiday season approaches in India, this road show will span four major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. The event will provide a platform for travel industry professionals to engage, explore business opportunities, and plan unique travel experiences in Bhutan.

Bhutan has become a top destination for Indian travelers, particularly during the summer months. In May 2024 alone, 19,212 Indian travelers visited Bhutan, marking a 100 per cent increase over April. Indian tourists are captivated by Bhutan’s rich heritage, spiritual offerings, and stunning natural beauty.

The four-city India Roadshow is designed to facilitate networking, collaboration, and business expansion for industry professionals. The road shows will target buyers from corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), luxury, and leisure segments, opening new avenues for partnership and growth.

Paris may be searched, but Munich is booked: understanding the travel preferences of Indian tourists

Germany outpaces France in hotel bookings despite Paris being the most searched destination from India. Contrary to the search data, Germany has outpaced France in actual hotel bookings, receiving 19 per cent of all bookings from India, compared to France’s 16 per cent. The efficiency of its visa process, affordability, and strategic location within Europe make Germany a preferred choice for many.

Around 20 Bhutanese exhibitors, including tour operators, hotels, and airlines, will participate in the road show, showcasing special offers, packages, and promotions. Each event will feature traditional Bhutanese cultural elements and exciting lucky draws, with return flight tickets to Bhutan as prizes.Carissa Nimah, Chief Marketing Officer, Bhutan Tourism, stated, “Bhutan is excited to bring the beauty of Bhutan to our friends in India through this road show. Bhutan offers a unique blend of nature, culture, and spirituality that is unlike anywhere else in the world. We invite all travel trade professionals to join us at this prestigious event and engage with top buyers in the industry. We look forward to sharing our wonderful country with Indian travelers and inviting them to discover the magic of Bhutan.”

Road Show Schedule: June 17 -Delhi, June 18 – Ahmedabad, June 20 – Mumbai and June 21 -Kolkata.

This exclusive event has limited spaces, and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
