BENGALURU: IT employees’ union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (Nites) has filed a complaint against Infosys for allegedly delaying the onboarding of over 2,000 campus hires for more than two years. The complaint has been filed with the ministry of labour and employment.
According to Nites president Harpreet Saluja, these delays have caused hardship to the affected employees, many of whom turned down other job offers relying on Infosys’s offer letters.“Now, they face financial hardship and uncertainty due to the lack of income and a clear onboarding timeline. Infosys’s actions constitute a serious breach of trust with these young professionals,” said Saluja.
Saluja has sought compensation for the affected employees in the form of full salary payment, employee assistance programmes, and alternative opportunities within the company. An email sent to Infosys didn’t elicit a response till the time of going to press.
