Mumbai: The Sukanu Committee, set up to ensure implementation of an agreement to provide skilled labour to European countries, held its first meeting in Stuttgart, Germany, on Wednesday. While school education minister Deepak Kesarkar is part of the delegation, CM Eknath Shinde attended the meeting online.
The state had signed an agreement with Baden-Wuttemberg in Feb this year for providing skilled manpower.Speaking on the occasion, Shinde said the deal will help resolve Germany’s shortage of skilled manpower and at the same time provide the youth in Maharashtra a new avenue for employment. tnn
