Incident at Miami Beach Marina

On Thursday, June 20, rapper Travis Scott, 33, was arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The artist, legally known as Jacques Bermon Webster II, was booked at 4:35 a.m. on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on a property after a warning. The combined bond for these charges was set at $650, with $150 for intoxication and $500 for trespassing. Records show that the bond was posted by Thursday morning.

Details of the Arrest

According to the Miami Beach Police Department, Scott’s arrest occurred around 1:44 a.m. following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina on 300 Alton Road. Officers were called to the scene due to reports of a fight on a yacht and discovered Scott yelling at the vessel’s occupants. The arrest affidavit noted that Scott ignored the officers’ commands, repeatedly stood up despite being told to sit, and had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.

Although the yacht’s complainant did not press charges, they requested that Scott leave the vessel. Despite being warned to leave the dock, Scott returned about five minutes later, causing further disturbance and ignoring police commands. This led to his arrest for trespassing and intoxication.

Past Legal Troubles

This incident is not Travis Scott’s first run-in with the law. In August 2015, he was arrested in Chicago for disorderly conduct after encouraging fans to bypass security and storm the stage during his Lollapalooza performance. In 2017, he faced similar charges in Arkansas after a concert and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. More recently, Scott’s Astroworld Festival in November 2021 ended tragically with 10 fatalities and numerous injuries due to a crowd crush, resulting in hundreds of lawsuits. However, a Texas grand jury decided in June 2023 not to pursue criminal charges against him.

Nothing Stops Travis

Despite his recent arrest for intoxication and trespassing, Travis Scott continues to tour and perform. He is scheduled to continue his Utopia-Circus Maximus Tour with upcoming performances in the Netherlands on June 28 and 30. The rapper, who shares two children with Kylie Jenner, remains a prominent figure in the music industry, navigating his career despite ongoing legal challenges and past controversies.
