New Delhi: A real estate businessman in Paschim Vihar has allegedly been asked to pay Rs 2 crore as protection money by a person claiming to be from the Nandu gang.
The victim, who has offices in Najafgarh and Bahadurgarh, received the call on his personal phone between 5pm and 6pm on Monday. The caller, who used an international number to conceal his identity, told the businessman to either pay Rs 2 crore or be ready to be brutally killed.A case has been filed.
According to police sources, the caller even boasted about the gang’s alleged involvement in the murder of Haryana INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee, which had sent shockwaves through the community in Feb.
The latest threat comes days after a real estate businessman from north Delhi’s Civil Lines was threatened with an extortion demand of Rs 5 crore in the name of gangster Goldy Brar.
