Indian shares opened higher on Thursday amid positive investor sentiment following the NDA’s backing of Narendra Modi for a third term as Prime Minister. The BSE Sensex climbed 303 points or 0.41 per cent to 74,685.68, while the NSE Nifty50 surged 76 points or 0.34 per cent, to 22,696.40. On the BSE, NTPC and SBI were the top gainers, whereas Nestle and HUL were the top laggards. Similarly, on the NSE, NTPC and SBI led the gains, while HUL and Britannia were among the top losers.
